“You’re radiating wealth!”

“What?” I stood at a crosswalk in downtown Culver City, waiting for the light to change.

“Money. Prosperity. Joy.”

I thanked him. Some random young guy on the street. How bizarre. I’ve never thought of myself as radiating wealth. Money and I, we’ve had a strained relationship over the years.

Around my neck, a brilliant jade green scarf. Silk. From Paris. There’s a long story behind it, but I’ll save that for another post.

When I arrived at the restaurant to meet my entrepreneurial friends, still flummoxed, I told them about the guy and his comments.

“It’s true,” said one. “I’ve noticed that. You’re vibrating at a higher wealth frequency. I’ve felt it the last few times I’ve seen you. When I first met you, you didn’t have that at all. You were stuck in that starving artist/poverty mindset story.”

Wealth frequency.

It sounded crazy, and yet…

This is one of the moments where you take stock. And realize things have shifted — without you even realizing.

If you’re like me, you get so focused on doing, striving — you don’t always notice when change actually occurs. That night, I had a stranger and a new friend mirror a change.

I’m no New Age groupie. But I am a published author, a writing mentor. I’ve spent years honing my craft, my sensitivity to psychological nuance. My job is to listen closely, observe, tune in to…well, energies. The surface and the subtext. The underneath. How was that different from frequencies?

What I realized is that my year and a half of intense investment in entrepreneurial education is paying off — literally, figuratively — and now in energetic frequency. It’s all rooted in growing self worth. When I was stuck in that starving artist/poverty mindset story, I could feel noble, superior. I could be a martyr. Underneath it I could also continue to indulge my own devaluation. My own sense of worthlessness.

What story about money and worth are you stuck in?

What would happen if you opened yourself to a new story?

Because of this experience, and because I have a milestone birthday approaching this Friday, I’ve decided to take that moment of wealth frequency awareness and dive more deeply into my journey toward more self worth. I invite you to join me this Saturday at the Sheraton/Delfina in Santa Monica for an intimate gathering of people who want to learn how to turn their skills and expertise into more income.

Are you ready to let go of your old stories?

Monica Shah will be training the group. I met her in Suzanne Evans’s 10K Club, and was blown away by her practical, simple advice and brilliance in business. She’s got an MBA from one of the top business schools in the country, Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. But more than that, she’s spent the past 6 years of her life studying business, marketing, and sales — and figuring out what you need to do to grow a profitable and satisfying business. Monica’s on a rare trip to Los Angeles on her More Money Tour. I’m making the day part of my birthday weekend. That’s how much I believe in what she can offer.

Artists, writers — isn’t it time we broke out of those old stories? Let go of money shame? Entrepreneurs, isn’t it time to stop playing small?

Join me. Click on the link below to register while there are still tickets.

    Rachel,

I am so proud of your journey! From my ringside seat I have witnessed a warrior, fighting for a foothold, a way in. You have always had everything it takes and more. So much more.

Happy Birthday! I wish I was there to celebrate with you. Connor will be here, that day and we will raise a toast to our beautiful friend.

    XO

Happy birthday weekend to a beautiful and inspiring woman. Having had a cerebellum w/ a congenitally recalcitrant left hemosphere , this workshop I’m missing is right up my fligjt of stairs .Crushed to hear of it too late. Fear told me to ,pass my disinterest in money as a moral victory. Then in an experience similar to yours, my Buddhist friend Richard suggested my poor financial planning was linked, inexorably, to low self esteem. He provided a humbling lesson. My hemispheres are becoming slowly acquainted, suspiciously, like couples counselling. They are both inspired by you and wish you crea:tivity and; prosperity. l am starting businrss this week! Best, Paula
